| Why I got into
Mountain Biking: |
After my first
marathon in '89, I was burned out on running but needed something to
keep me busy. Rented a mtb up in Winter Park in June 1990 and rode up to
the Continental Divide. I was a complete Fred but had a great time and
got hooked. The next month, I bought a Cannondale ($350 is huge dollars
to a poor college student) and never looked back. |

5/1/01 (Mayday) As a
matter of fact, I think I heard a call of "MaYdAy" coming from
a ravine right after we started. I like the blazing pace you guys ride
at, but am ready to pass out by the time you stop for a break. |
| Why do I race: |
Didn't we already
cover this? I don't race much because I suck. Can't keep up with the
1-1/2 hour sprint, so I like going the day before, preriding the course
all day long and sleeping in and having pancakes on Sunday |
